This isn't to abandon fish completely, but you need to be selective about what types of seafood you eat for some seafood can be high in mercury, which can find its way into your milk supply. So, before you eat any fish especially the packaged ones, read the nutritional label. Exposure to mercury causes neurotoxic and nephrotoxic effects. This affects the brain and kidneys.
For coffee lovers, they have to wait till after breastfeeding before they resume drinking it. It’s important to know that caffeine also finds its way into your breast milk. If this happens, your baby’s body will be unable to process the caffeine as quickly as an adult’s body. You do not want to keep your baby awake.
Breastfeeding your baby with dairy products in the early stages happens sometimes, either due to the health of the mother OR because the mother isn't producing enough breast milk. The baby has to feed no matter what. BUT breast milk remains the best.
