In a vibrant and engaging effort, Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF) joined forces with the blood transfusion service in Lagos, Nigeria, alongside various blood donor organizations, to host an exhilarating walk through the bustling streets of Ikeja Under Bridge, Lagos. This initiative is part of Blood Donation Awareness Month celebrated every January, aimed at raising awareness about the critical need for blood donations.

Objectives of the Campaign

The campaign, themed "Blood, A Precious Gift: Give to Save Lives," is designed to address the ongoing shortage of safe blood in the region. It encourages residents to embrace voluntary blood donation as a vital and life-saving act. The initiative emphasizes the importance of building a culture of generosity and community support around blood donation.

The campaign kicked off at the Lagos State Government Secretariat, Alausa-Ikeja, where attendees participated in various activities, including:

- Distribution of Leaflets: Informational leaflets were handed out to educate the public about the importance of blood donation and how it can save lives.

 - Pasting Call-to-Action Stickers: Stickers promoting the campaign were affixed to vehicles, creating visibility and encouraging conversations about blood donation among commuters.

- Advocacy Visits: Teams engaged with local stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and community leaders, to foster partnerships and advocate for the cause.

- Community Engagement: The walk progressed through parks, garages, and markets around the Ikeja Under Bridge area, reaching a diverse audience. Engagement with the community was essential to spread the message effectively.
